Do we have privacy online? Nah.

People should be more aware of their privacy online and how they should be more careful with their identity. There's many third party who sees their history and what they do online. People are not safe using the internet. There's so many hackers out there that can hack your identity and simple use their credit cards. There's so many credit card frauds happening each day because of the internet. As the first group presented, I learned a lot from it and how it's very dangerous to put your identity out online. They can find your family history, their crimes, their possessions, etc. There are sites where they make you buy a subscription to see your family history and other family history. It's not illegal ??? It's crazy how scary that is. People can catfish as other people and deceive others. As the internet was form- they created a thing called internet dating/online dating. There's applications and websites that are for people who are finding a significant ot…

Artificial Intelligence?

As technology enhances, so does Artificial Intelligence. I wasn't very familiar with Artificial Intelligence until I started researching after this class. While watching Black mirror it was quite scary how technology will enhance in the nearest future. All the series and episode is about the future of technology. Sooner or later we will be ruled by AI and they will take human jobs. Cashier clerks will soon be wiped by robots and self check out machines. Do people know how dangerous technology can be to human existence? I feel that they only care about the newer technology that they don't really mind how it can be a threat to human existence. People blind out the negative effects on Artificial intelligence and just think about the positives. Do they know what it can do? Do they know how powerful it can be? I wish sometimes they would take the time to research about it but even then... how can they stop it? Technology will keep getting better and more powerful and humans will be…

Start a company they said. -

STARTUP.COM MOVIE
It was a pretty interesting documentary because it was very informing. The documentary started off with two friends named Kaleil Isaza Tuzman and trom Herman. They started off as normal people but then ended up quitting their jobs then moved onto the internet. During the time they started was when the usage of internet was rising. They then started a company that didn't even have a name. They settled on naming their company GovWorks.com which had over 200 employee working on the site. During the time, the two started appearing in shows and tv sittings. Throughout the movie it shows their daily lives and their pressures. This documentary goes in dept with the two protagonist which makes it feel like a reality tv show. The govWorks office gets broken into and files are stolen which affects both of them. It starts going downhill from there which then comes the dot-com meltdown. They lose all their funds and sells govWork to a competitor. After they sell their compan…

. BOMB

Dot-com When the internet and the world-wide web was first introduced, the growth in the usage and adaptation was extreme. While the internet was “booming” there was many job openings with computer science and information technology majors. Many new careers were being created during this time, but after the dot bomb, many were laid off. Many were laid off because the pay for their careers were too high. There was a faze when the internet usage was so extreme that many dot-com companies stock companies rose. Between 1995 and 2000, the Nasdaq Composite stock market index rose 400%.
Dot-com boom was between 1995-2000, the nickname dot bomb was given to many internet based companies that failed at the end of the 20th century. In the late 1990s companies like pets.com, webvan, and boo.com were failed and shut down. Some of the companies had declining stocks buy 86% such as Cisco. Some companies during this era such as eBay and Amazon had a decline in value but recovered very quickly.

Do you believe that you can be a self-made billionaire?

Meeting Erik was quite wholesome. I never really met a entrepreneur or even talked to one so seeing him talk to us was an honor. I really love learning new things about businesses and their journey. He was very informative with the topics such as technology and business. The thing I would like to ask him would be about the future of technology. What’s his opinion about all these new inventions coming out. It’s scary how technology is growing and becoming more powerful in this world. Sooner or later we will be run by technology. I honestly think that by 2030 we will have an invention that can clone humans which is scary to think about. I’m interested in his thought about this topic. What is his views on artificial intelligence? Does he agree about all these inventions that are coming out?  I was really engaged in his point when he explained how the internet was a source to get rich easily and he’s right. Like imagining how if we were born at the right age when the internet was created…

Extra Extra! Read All About It

What I like to report for this class is Artificial Intelligence more so, the future in technology. If you read about my first blog post I talked about the British Netflix series called Black Mirror. In the series there's an episode called Be Right Back. Despite black mirror being an anthology series, each episode focuses on a similar theme: dependence on technology could have detrimental effects regardless of its potential benefits. As our society becomes more immersed in a highly technical, innovative culture, it is imperative that we analyze the significance and consequences of such technology, especially in the form of mass communications. While I report this topic I will tell a brief description about this episode because It relates heavily on Artificial Intelligence and the detrimental effects on it. In the nearest future we will be introduced to more technology to the point where we will create human like androids to fill voids of a death. Privacy will take a big part in my…

Journalism where you going?

Where is journalism going?
Would you say it's dying? No? I wouldn't think so. Journalist motive is to create a quality content article. Although journalism changed dramatically throughout its history, they still carry out the same content. Before- to be a journalist you would have to have background experience. Nowadays anyone could be a journalist. The internet created opportunities and free access for these to happen. Today when people talk about journalism they think of false facts and negative content. If journalist wants to make a living out of journalism they would have to write about attention grabbing ideas and facts. To lure in the audience they would need high quality content. Nowadays many journalist use clickbait as their source to lure the audience. Journalism is still relevant til this day but are the contents true? To me, I don't like where journalism is headed. Due to the internet being a big outlet - there's more journalist chasing the money than to ha…
